The Music and Lyrics composed by Dr Adrian Sheen. This is his first foray into writing music. Better to start composing, before decomposing.

As a lover and performer of jazz, Dr Sheen has played in dixieland bands for many, many years - running his own band, The MULGOA ROAD JAZZ BAND, for over 30 years.

Teaming up with well-known South African singer Tommy Lawson Why? is a ballad, a ballad about loss, a ballad about love.

As a family doctor of over 40 years, Dr Sheen has been privileged to have intimate insight into the difficulties faced by individuals and families.

The tinge of sadness in Why? has been bought about by the NSW Government’s demand to knock down his long-standing medical practice for road widening, Undoubtedly the most personally stressful 5 years of his life.

His next song is to be about the NSW Government but he did have trouble finding a rhyme to go with the name of the ex-NSW Leader, Premier Berejiklian. Premier Perrottet is not any easier!

Why? is dedicated to Dr Sheen’s music teacher, the late Jack Hindmarsh who was multi-talented, extraordinarily affable and a musical inspiration to just so many people. Without him, the world - and our musical world - would have been a far poorer place. Forever grateful.
